The Romero brothers, Walter and Sergio, are from a third generation coffee producing family. After inheriting the techniques and passion necessary to produce fine quality coffee from their father, they now work the land together with their wives and children on the western side of Honduras, just outside the buffer zone of Celaque National Park. For producers in this region, coffee means more than just a way to make a living, but also a source of tradition and pride. The El Lesquin lot grows at an altitude of around 1450 meters above sea level with a total planted area of 28 hectares (this is just one plot of the larger farm.) It is handpicked and wet milled daily, then dried using solar dryers and patios. The El Lesquin name comes from the abundant sweetgum trees that grow on the property.
