Sumatra Gayo Highlands

This coffee is grown by smallholders in the Gayo Highlands with an average farm size of only one hectare. Most are members of cooperatives that support them in producing certified organic and fair trade coffees. The coffee plants are shade grown, frequently using lamtoro, or river tamarind, trees.
